End of the Line General Store

It was my dad who first introduced me to Lynn Headwaters, a beautiful regional park in North Vancouver's Lynn Valley, which is where the water rushes down from Mount Seymour after a winter full of snow and a spring full of melting snow. This gorgeous area is right at the base of the mountain and grabs a person by the soul and transports them to another place seemingly hundreds of miles from Vancouver, but in fact, is only a 30 minute drive away. And it is at the entrance of Lynn Headwaters where one of my favorite coffee stops resides - the End of the Line General Store.

This coffee place is much more than a coffee place - it is, as its name suggests, an old-fashioned General Store! Historically the last stop on the trolley line in the early 1900s, hence the name End of the Line, it is a refurbished and restored station house that now has a charming and eclectic collection of local products, souvenirs, toys, specialty food products, and even jewelry. Many of the store's items feel unique and not found elsewhere, likely because the store supports local artisans. Much of the store showcases products that bear connections to the North Shore and North Vancouver, sharing its local charm and cozy feel.

It's the kind of place that I always want to return to. It's so close by for the Lynn Valley local, and yet it transports and relaxes. It has a fantastic, friendly vibe. I like to sit outside on a sunny day, but even on a drizzly day, it is enjoyable. It's frequented by many, including cyclists, hikers, walkers, and almost everyone local who can sense its intrinsic charm. My favorite orders there are the large hot latte, and one of their delicious hot panini sandwiches.

How about you? Are you a regular at the End of the Line General Store? And what do you like there? And if you have never been, are you ready to check it out for a break from the everyday? Share your stories with me, over text at 604-360-6852 or over email. Would love to hear from you!
